Who is Atul Chakma ?

Adv. Atul Chakma is a first-generation indigenous advocate and passionate social activist. He is dedicated to promoting social justice and advocating for the rights of marginalized communities. With a strong academic background and extensive experience in legal and social work,  specialize in addressing sociological issues, particularly those affecting the Chakma community.

He have a diverse educational background, including degrees BA, LLB,MA, LLM and MSW. Diploma in Women Empowerment & Development , Gender in Law along with multiple specialized certificate courses like Human Rights, International Humanitarian Laws, Consumers Protection, Criminal Justice system, Anti Human Trafficking, Tribal Studies etc. His academic journey has equipped him with a deep understanding of sociological issues and legal frameworks, enabling him to conduct socio-legal research and contribute to discourse on Chakma socio-legal issues.

As student activists have served in All Arunachal Pradesh Student Union as Joint Secretary and Communication Secretary. He was also President of Nagpur Chakma Student Union ( M.H) . With over seven years of experience in Buddhist teaching and learning focused on conflict resolution and peacebuilding, he bring a unique perspective to his work. He have been providing free counseling to individuals, families as well as legal support and guidance to those in need. 

His mission is to work tirelessly towards advocacy for social justice, promoting human rights, and empowering marginalized communities. Through his Facebook and YouTube channels, he aim to raise awareness about pressing sociological issues, with a specific focus on the challenges faced by the Chakma community.

Among the numerous communities affected, the Chakma community of the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) faced a unique set of challenges.
