Why Chakma Buddhist converting to others religion ?

Chakma people live in Bangladesh , India and Myanmar and some others foreign countries .

Chakma are Buddhist and they've been following Buddhism since long time  and they believed that they're descent of Sakya .

There was no official data of Muslim and Christian Chakma since 1950 . But now a days officially many Chakmas converting into Christianity and Islam . Hindu culture also have vast impact on Chakma . However none of them officially converted into Hindu as like Islam and Christianity .

There are many reasons which are as follows .

1. Lack of knowledge about Buddhism .

Misconceptions about Buddhism .

No practical knowledge about Buddhism

 Only mythological speech by monks .

Most of Chakmas even don't know the meaning of Panchashila . Traditional Monk's use only Old Teaching Techniques, less practical knowledge about present situation . Monks don't visit to remote or hilly areas .

Most of the Missionary take advantage of misconceptions about Buddhism and use to say if you accept our religion then all of your sin will be forgiven then you'll go to heaven . They also get facilities after conversion and keep influencing others to convert . 

2. Free Facilities :-  Education , medical facilities etc .

Most of the converters are belong to Uneducated and POOR families and they're totally ignorance about Buddhism and they even don't know about panchashila. Missionaries always target to remote area and poor uneducated peoples and offers many things . Many only convert themselve for free education and medical facilities .Not because of faith but for facilities .

3. Lack of knowledge about History

Once their ancestors fought and sacrificed their lives to save own existence . Chakma people fought with Mughals and British for long time to protect their identities . Mughals and British attempted their best to convert Chakma but they always rejected their proposals as usual. Chakma peoples adopted Khan and Roy title but they never embrace Islam and Christianity . 

4. Blind faith :- Superstition among Chakmas .

 :- Chakma believed Buddha as God and keep praying instead of working hard or change their situation . Less Practical and scientific knowledge and maximum monk's promote only mythological stories , So they made Buddhism limited on Heaven, hell rebirth . Stupid actions or suggestions by uneducated monks and missionaries take advantage of all those activities of monks .

 Desire of Forgiveness and Heaven :- Converted Chàkma believed that God will Forgive all sins and will get heaven . They keep trying convince others , its believed that god will bless and will be happy as much they can convince . Most of them keep critisisng to former religion without having knowledge about Buddhism .

5. Atrocities against Buddhist people's in Bangladesh and some part of India People's get special privileges who belong to particular religion.  If they convert then same religious community come forward to help them and get many facilities . Therefore to get Justice and to save themselves from discrimination and atrocities they're converting into others religion. 

6. Community Support :- Poor People's always discriminated and ignored and never get proper Support .Our Leaders and education people have Less Social relations with poor and Uneducated Chakma . Therefore they feel ignored therefore many see conversion as option to get Social and political support.

No more unity among Community Leaders :- 

No awareness camp or no guidance .

7. Political reasons and Politicians ( supress by majority religion) , Policy to divide us "divid and rule" policy  (Iron cut iron) . Our politicians always give priority and promote to others culture to impress their political party leaders .

8. Less participation of Youngsters :- Most of the youths of Chakma don't take active part in Buddhist Rituals because there's no entertainment like dancing and singing . Most of them give priority and take part in others religious and cultural rituals .

no enjoyment .

Impact :- 

We're micro Community and we'll be divided into many groups due to our religious faith and cultural differences . In future we may lost our existence or will assimilate with others Community .

Once they convert most of them cut off themselves from Society . Because they're not allowed worship to anyone after conversion . So most of them don't participate in Buddhist Rituals. In future it'll create biggest conflict between us.They Keep criticising and convince others Chakma by offering many things .

Solution to Stop Conversion among Chakma

1. Awareness of Buddhism with practical knowledge . 

2. Boycott all stupid and uneducated monk's

3. Promotion of modern education and History .

4. Unity and stand for together .

5. Participants of Youngsters .

6. Monks should visit to villages too.

7. Understand the policy of divide and rule .

8. Pay Back to Society .

9. Attempt to establish own educational institutions .

10. Unity among ourselves etc .
